The competition details are....

This is our first ever Workigton Town Council's charity calendar!


We’re thrilled to be calling residents forward to help us produce our calendar for 2024!

We’re looking for residents’ favourite images taken in the town to help bring the calendar to life.


The calendar will showcase everything from Workington's outdoor spaces, wildlife, events, and beautiful countryside to capturing the community spirit of the town and its urban scenes.

Proceeds from the sale of the calendar will be shared between Cllr Beth Dixon the Mayor of Workington Town Council Charities – Freedom Project and Sea-cadets.

Closing date for submitting images for consideration is 29th September at 5pm. 

You can enter as many photo's a you like.

Workington Town Council Charity Calendar –

Terms and Conditions


  1. The Competition is open to all residents, businesses of Workington as well as visitors to the area.

  2. All entrants must be over the age of 18

    1. Entrants who are under the age of 18 must seek parental/guardian approval before entering the competition.

    2. Entrants who are under the age of 13, will need to ask a parent/guardian to apply on their behalf.

3.0       Any entrants that apply to join the competition will automatically be deemed to have accepted the Terms and Conditions.

4.0      To enter the competition, you must submit a photo to Workington Town Council by one of the following methods:-

  1. Send a photo to

  2. Send photo via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

  3. In person or post to our offices at: Workington Town Council, Workington Town Council Community Centre, Princess Street, Workington, CA14 2QG.

  4. If you are unable to enter by any of the above methods, please call Siobhan on 01900 702986.

5.0       Closing date for all entries will be 5pm on 26th September 2023.

6.0       No purchase by the entrant is required to enter this competition.

7.0       There is no limit to the number of submissions.

8.0       Workington Town Council does not take any responsibility for entries that are delayed, misdirected or incomplete. Proof of delivery is not proof of receipt.

9.0       The copyright of any images given for submission remains with the person who submits the image for the competition, however WTC reserves the right to use the image to promote the competition for future publicity and for public voting if required. WTC reserve the right to share the image on any platform continually unless the copyright owner requests in writing to withdraw permission.

10.0     By submitting the entry, you agree to: -

  • Comply with the terms and conditions of Facebook and WTC including, but not limited to, the terms of service, community standards and rules of service.

  • You undertake that it is your original work and does not breach any copyright.​​   

  • Your name or username can be used along with your submission for the competition entry.

  • You agree for WTC to crop or edit the image to best serve the purpose of entering the competition.

  • You grant the use of the image to WTC, copyright free.

  • Permission for your entry to be submitted on the WTC Facebook page and website as well as WTC printed publications, e.g. Workington Papers along with publication in the Calendar.

11.0     The entries will be put forward to a panel of judges comprising of: -

  • The elected Mayor

  • The elected Deputy Mayor

  • Elected councillors

12.0     All above positions will be subject to change at the discretion of WTC if circumstances prevent the above appointed persons being available at the point of the panel conversing on entries. Another member of WTC staff will fill vacant positions. A majority vote will be taken accepted in the event of a split decision.

13.0     The panel will make the decision as to the Calendar publication after the closing date of the event.

14.0     The Judging panel’s decision is final and is not subject to change.

15.0     The winner will be notified in writing by the WTC staff.

​16.0      The winner will be the owner of the submitted entry or email address in which the nomination was sent from.

17.0     The competition is in no way connected or endorsed to any platform that is used in the facilitation of this competition.

18.0     The calendar will be sold with the profits going to the Mayor’s chosen charities.

19.0     The winners may be required to participate in post promotion publicity.
