Vulcan Park Family Fun Day

What's it all about?

Join us for a FREE family fun day.


There will be lots to do for the whole family including:

Bag decorating, colouring in, word searches, refreshments, head bands, masks, capes, belts and cuffs, power wands, mini me / side kick, face painting, glitter tattoos, festival dots, birds of prey, animals, circus skills, sports, storytelling, sandpits and hook a duck.

The first 100 children get either a free hot dog or ice cream.

The Grow Well Community Garden will be also be open during the Vulcan Park fun day on 25th August from 1pm-4pm.

They will have free seed sowing and bug hotel building activities. Plus composting and general gardening advice will be available from volunteers trained at Newton Rigg.

We will also have an Olympic Athlete with us, Danny Purvis on the day. Daniel Purvis is a British gymnast who was part of the team that claimed historic team silver medal at the World Championships in 2015.

At London 2012 Daniel won Olympic bronze in the all-around team event and he also has an individual world bronze in the floor.

Dan won parallel bars gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2014 and also claimed team silver.

Come along and meet Daniel on the day.

If that wasn't already enough:

The Bowling Club in the park, will be open so you can have a go for FREE. It's open to all ages and no experience necessary. Flat shoes must be worn.
