The Courses:

1km

The race will start near the entrance to the Cricket Club on Black Path and head west towards Borough Park. Runners will then be directed into the football stadium and run round the grounds to the finish. The 1km race is a free to enter marshalled fun run primarily for children. The race can be entered for free online or on the day, if places are available. The run is marshalled and it is expected that parents/ guardians will supervise children throughout. The run is not timed.

5km

The 5km race is an out and back course. The start is on Black Path outside the football stadium and runs down towards the Cricket Club entrance where runners will take a sharp right up hill turning to join the cycle path. Runners will then cross Navvi’s bridge and head North West along Northside Road. Runners will be directed North on to the cycle path until reaching a marshalled turn-around point and will then return along the same route. On reaching the Football ground runners will be directed into the stadium and finish by running around the football field to the finish line.

10km

  • The 10Km covers the same course as the 5K.

  • On reaching the 5K turn-round point runners will continue and be directed over the A596 pedestrian bridge where they will then head South East on the cycle path taking them past the nature reserve and a drinks station adjacent to Dunmail Park.

  • When the runners reach a fork in the cycle path they will be directed north towards Seaton to a marshalled turning point.

  • Runners will then return the same way as they went out, finishing by running around the football field to the finish line.

Our compere will also be on hand to ensure everyone knows where they are going and gets to that all-important start line on time. We’ll also have someone on hand to warm you up before the start of each race to ensure your muscles are in the best shape and to prevent any injuries.

The Cumberland Athletic Club will also be on hand throughout the day to give guidance and advice.
